EVER FANCIED BUYING SANDRINGHAM HOUSE OR HOUGHTON HALL?

 Well now is your chance!

Earlier this Summer Tim, our MD, was invited to look around The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House and he felt a little apprehensive to be honest knowing that this was likely to be a place providing supportive care to people in the final phase of a terminal illness focusing on comfort and quality of life, rather than a cure.
When he arrived he was so surprised to find The Hospice had a real upbeat feeling with so much going on and lots of really friendly, happy staff.
The Hospice was spotless and the reception area felt more like a hotel and there were really nice aromas coming out of the kitchen!
As he looked around, what he was most impressed about was the support and facilities that are given to relatives and friends of the patients not only during their care but also afterwards.
This is invaluable to some who can often be lost and forgotten in their time of grief.
Tim wanted to find a worthy charity that NoTwenty9 could support as their chosen charity and quite quickly he knew that this charity could really benefit from our support as they looked to increase the amount of patients they could care for and improve their facilities.

We were excited to find out that The Norfolk Hospice had been selected by UK-based Winning Moves and Hasbro to produce a special North & West Norfolk edition of monopoly and were looking for sponsorship. Tim quickly knew that he wanted to be the headline sponsor giving the Hospice the chance to get the funds required to create a wonderful board showcasing what we love; this part of Norfolk and the amazing iconic properties, businesses and attractions it offers.

It was difficult to keep the monopoly board a secret until the official launch, in fact we had to try and keep it under wraps for nearly five months!

We held the launch party in the Orangery here at NoTwenty9 and all the local businesses who had sponsored or donated toward the board were invited. The evening commenced with a glass of South Pickenham sparkling wine and a range of canapés were served using great local produce including A & M Frary, Wells next the Sea  mussels and crabs, wild mushroom gougeres supported by local fruit and vegetable supplier Barsbys. Swannington Farm to Fork kindly donated sausages to be served in a hollowed out bread and we served a delicious range of both savoury and sweet macarons created by our pastry section.

We were inundated by generosity from local businesses for an exciting auction including Staithe smoke house of Brancaster, Fruit Pig black pudding, Nelson Gold from Wild Knight Distillery, a farm tour from Swannington Farm to Fork including a voucher to spend in their butchery, a cuddle with the cows experience and more delicious treats from Old Hall Farm in Woodton. A local artist from Wells, Linda Pattrick also donated an original piece of art of Wells next the sea and Norfolk gin donated their 25000 gin bottle with lovely artwork by Lisa Angel.
A unique experience was also offered by Robert Smith MBE of Wells harbour consisting of a tour of the harbour and creeks viewing wildlife/ seals and some of the history of the Port.

The auction was orchestrated  by the wonderful Rebecca Mayhew from Old Hall Farm who ramped up the bids for candlelit dinners, over night stays and the chance of having  a Chef and Butler experience, all together raising a further £2000.

So now it’s your turn!
